What To Expect From A Boudoir Photography Session

Your Boudoir Session should be custom tailored to your unique style and personality.

Foremost, the key to having a positive and successful session with stunning results, is work closely with your photographer.

This collaboration ensures that your session will be unique .It is important to choose the right photographer - one that you feel comfortable with and who you believe can work with you to create the vision you are seeking to bring to life in your shoot.

Whether this is your first photo session or you are a professional model. When you first arrive for your session, your photographer will take time to get to know you and make feel comfortable. This is a good time to show them the outfits you brought with you and discuss the looks you are trying to achieve. If you have already discussed your vision, themes, and poses, this is a good time to revisit those with the photographer and get their thoughts.

Hair and Make Up : Many boudoir clients will have their photographer arrange a hair stylist and makeup artist for thair session either to be on location or done for them before hand. Some clients prefer to do their own hair and makeup, have your hair and make up done before arriving to your session.

Hair and makeup can be some of the most critical elements, so styles, time and other aspects should be considered beforehand.

Getting dressed : Many studios will have a private dressing room. If the shoot is in your home or a hotel, there will be a space available. For location or outdoor shoots, there may not be a dedicated space for changing, so you must plan accordingly.

The Session : The length of the shoot will vary depending on how many looks and poses you are seeking to achieve in your session. Normally, you will work with the Photographer to outline some themes, and poses for your session.Your photographer will help you with poses, and make sure your hair, makeup, and clothing look good and "on point" throughout the shoot. Many photographers will play music or serve beverages to set moods and help you relax and have fun.

After the Session :Once the shoot is done, your photographer will provide an opportunity to review the pictures. Most photographers provide packages for ordering prints and photo books. Most also provide editing or retouching of the photos. Depending on the package you purchased, some of these may be included in your session fee, but most photographers charge extra for retouching and especially for prints. Make sure you understand what is and is not included in your session pricing.

Once you have ordered your prints. Your photographer , may print your photographs in-house, or have them done by a third-party printing service. You will now have a physical lasting product that captures your unique image in time and your memories of your session!
